An Caislean ("the castle" in Irish) is three accommodations in one – made up of three renovated Victorian townhouses. First there is the Glenluce Lodge, a 3 star guesthouse. Then there is Corratavey House, a bed and breakfast. Finally there is Castle Hostel, perfect for the budget traveller. An Caislean is located in Ballycastle on Northern Ireland’s north coast. The Giant’s Causeway and other attractions are a short drive, while Portrush (and Royal Portrush Golf Club) is around 17 miles away.

Description
There is a wide selection of rooms on offer at An Caislean. The three renovated Victorian townhouses that make up this accommodation give it charm – and uniqueness. The bedrooms range from double superior and family rooms, to hostel twin rooms.
Breakfast is made using fresh and local ingredients. There is also a tea room where snacks and lunch – and tea – are served. Parking is secure and free while other features are available, like complimentary wireless Internet access.

Location

Ballycastle is around 17 miles from Portrush but it is right on the Causeway coast and the famous scenic route. The Giant’s Causeway and other attractions like Bushmills Distillery, Dunluce Castle and several golf courses (including Royal Portrush Golf Course) are all easily accessible.
An Caislean is situated halfway between Ballycastle town centre and the seafront – both are a five minute walk away. The seafront is perfect for relaxing strolls while there is a variety of shops, restaurants, cafes and bars in Ballycastle town centre.

 

Features
The selection of different rooms makes An Caislean suitable for just about any budget. The hostel rooms do not have private bathroom facilities (it is shared) or televisions, but they are comfortable, clean, cosy and competitively priced. The guesthouse and bed and breakfast rooms have all the modern facilities you would expect – like en suite bathrooms, a television, a hair dryer, iron, ironing board, and tea and coffee making facilities.
Breakfast (choice of continental and fully cooked) is made using local ingredients and there is a tea room that serves snacks and lunch.
